It is with a combination of sadness for us, and happiness for him that Teamsters Local No. 695 announces the upcoming retirement of our Secretary-Treasurer and Principal Officer, Wayne Schultz.
Following is a message from Brother Schultz:
After a career of forty-two years as a proud Teamster; I am retiring as of August 31, 2021.
It has been my honor and privilege to have served as Business Representative and Secretary/Treasurer of Local 695, as well as President of Wisconsin Teamsters Joint Council 39, as Union Trustee for the Wisconsin Health Fund, as Union Trustee of the Banquet Foods Pension Fund and as Union Chair of the negotiating committee for the Banquet Foods national agreement for many years.
I have been fortunate in receiving guidance from many mentors throughout my tenure; as the positions I've held are positions which require many years of knowledge and hard work. Even still, I have found that there is something new and challenging each and every day.
To be a small part of the greatest labor organization in the world has been extremely gratifying. I will miss the day to day experiences, and I will especially miss my relationships with the members.
I have every confidence in the Officers, Business Representatives, and Staff who will take over and lead Local 695 in my absence. Their devotion and experience will continue to maintain what I feel is a level of excellence second-to-none as a labor organization. Through your support and their dedication; Local 695 will continue to be a beacon leading the way in supporting working women and men in Wisconsin.
It goes without saying, but I love this job! However, all good things must come to an end, and it’s time for me to say good-bye. Keep up the good fight, and God bless you and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
